“In my time working with the women of Hope Restored, there has come a time when each of the women I’ve worked with has asked me if I am angry with them or feel let down by them because they may have lapsed back into addiction or not completed a task. I have always replied there is nothing they can do that would ever cause me to be angry or feel let down by them. I believe that during their lives, the women have been shamed or rebuked many times and that these feelings have stayed with them. I feel it is of utmost importance for those of us who volunteer at Hope Restored to be caring, supportive and non-judgemental, and to believe in the women at all times, even if they no longer believe in themselves”.
