(Alongside a Pre-Summit Day for Professional Development on April 26th). We invite YOU to join us at this exciting event. This is geared for the general public to learn about the topic of Sexual exploitation and trafficking in Canada.  A list of our speakers and presenters is listed on our website  along with ticket information, FAQ’s and more. Additional information will be added in the coming weeks. Our Early Bird Deadline is March 27th 2019 and tickets are available through Eventbrite-(a discount is offered to students and HRC members).

WHY SHOULD YOU COME?

Human Trafficking is not just a global tragedy, it is a local one. For many years, the extent and reality of sexual exploitation has been hidden or unknown in communities across Canada. Contrary to the common belief that sexual exploitation and trafficking only happens in third world countries, it is happening across Canada.

Hope Restored Canada is excited to host this year’s annual Summit in order for us to grow in hope, become equipped, and respond to this local issue.

The summit is an opportunity for our communities, businesses, and members of HRC to be educated on the problem of sexual exploitation, and how we can work together to eradicate human trafficking in our communities and country! The event will feature amazing speakers from across Canada, stories of survivors, and highlight the work of our committed volunteers at HRC!

COME LEARN FROM:

  • Registered Nurse and Forensic Nurse Examiner, Tara Wilkie (BC)
  • Detective Constable, Toronto Police – Gang Unit, Andrew Hammond (Ontario)
  • Human Trafficked Survivor, Author, Speaker and Social Advocate, Timea Nagy (Ontario)
  • Human Trafficked Survivor and Advocate, Beatrice Wallace (Saskatchewan)
  • International Justice Mission, David Polindine (MB)
  • Also featuring local speakers and professionals to inspire each participant.

Through prevention measures, vocational expertise, collaboration and partnership, volunteering and innovative ways, our aim is for each person attending Summit 2019 to grow in hope, become equipped and consider their part in responding to the call to eradicate sex trafficking in Canada!

PLUS: NEW THIS YEAR!

A special, full day, pre-conference, professional-development event will also take place for service providers, health and social justice professionals on Friday, April 26th, 8:30am-4pm
